...Answers to some common questions...

How is a tube produced?
  • K-Tube utilizes premium flat strip stock. That stock is roll formed to precise dimensions and then fused together with a laser. Subsequent drawing and cold working "sinks" this welded stock to the desired dimensions.

I want a smooth bore, how do I specify that?

K-Tube offers three ID finishes:

  • K-Form, our cleanest and most common finish. Utilized in many applications, this is the most economical solution for most.

  • Matte Draw, Stylet insertion or flow applications may benefit from this finish as it provides an improved surface over the K-Form.

  • Brite Draw, Our smoothest, brightest finish is near mirror quality and exudes a level of quality unmatched in the industry. Possesses that "electropolished" look. Perfect for critical blood flow applications and delicate procedures where turbulence and cell damage must be minimized. RMS can be tailored to fit your needs.

What is your minimum order requirement?

  • 500ft minimum for footage
  • 1000pc minimum for cuts
  • $500 minimum order
  • Sample orders for parts on the shelf are $150/lot for 3 pcs of stock tubing in 5 foot lengths.

What is the maximum OD/Wall you offer?

  • Typically, 6 gauge (.202"-.204") is our maximum advertised size. K-Tube is capable of producing a larger OD up to .250" but with no tempering and in coil form only. Wall maximum offered is .01850" on sizes over .100" OD.

What is the smallest tube you can make?

  • K-Tube is able to produce tubing as small as 36 gauge. OD range is .004"-.005", ID range is .002"-.003" or smaller than a human hair!
