Finishes
K-Tube offers three distinct inside diameter finishes–no other domestic tube manufacturer offers this degree of flexibility. The finish options provide solutions for a wide range of applications and budgets, while specific RMS/Ra values can also be achieved.
Each ID characteristic is size and wall dependent. Please discuss your finish requirements with a customer service representative. Some ID finish requests are subject to engineering review to determine the correct process.
Welded and Drawn
The tube of choice when inside diameter finish is not critical. A prime example of high-quality tubing with maximized economics. Cleanliness of the surface is a hallmark of this finish because no lubricants or solvents are used. Welded and Drawn tubing is more flexible and resistant to breakage than any other stainless tubing. All tube sizes are supported.
Plug/Mandrel Drawn
Excels when a need exists for thin to ultra-thin walls, a specific feel or stylet insertion requirements. Combines our Laserweld technology and plug-draw capabilities to provide distinct advantages. Tube sizes 32 gage and larger are supported.
Plug/Mandrel Drawn (Premium ID Surface Finish)
The highest quality laser-welded tubing in the industry when your application requires enhanced flow characteristics or reduced turbulence. Ideal when inside diameter finish is critical because the floating plug-drawing process eliminates interior coarseness. Tube sizes 23 gage through 10 gage are supported.
